摘要: Coronaviruses are enveloped, plus-polarity RNA viruses which replicate by a unique mode of transcription.1, 2, 3 Previous studies in our laboratory have indicated that recombination occurs at very high frequency during mixed infection with two heterologous strains MHV4, 5. These data, coupled the presence discrete larger leader-containing RNAs range from 47 to 1000 nucleotides length MHV-infected cells,6 suggest intermediates synthesized transcription may dissociate and reassort between viral templates generate recombinant copy-choice mechanism4. Therefore, cells represent functional recombination. In this paper, we analyzed origin, structure, probable mechanism synthesis these RNAs. data provide evidence MHV pauses sites corresponding hairpin loops template or product strands reassociate intermittently course transcription.
