摘要: There is significant concern about the worldwide migration of nursing professionals from low-income countries to rich ones, as nurses are lured fill large number vacancies in upper-income countries. This study explores views students Uganda assess their on practice options and intentions migrate. Anonymous questionnaires were distributed at Makerere Nursing School Aga Khan University Kampala, Uganda, during July 2006, using convenience sampling methods, with 139 participants. Two focus groups also conducted one university. Most (70%) participants would like work outside said it was likely that within five years they be working U.S. (59%) or U.K. (49%). About a fourth (27%) could another African country. Only eight percent all reported an unlikelihood migrate training completion. Survey respondents more dissatisfied financial remuneration than any other factor pushing them towards emigration. Those wanting settings urban, private, U.K./U.S. practices less express sense professional obligation and/or loyalty who have lived rural areas report emigrate. Students desire urban private intent emigrate for reasons pursuit country stability, while public want overall. Improving top priority policy change sought by our study. schools may recruit desiring lead stable workforce Uganda.
