摘要: Breast cancer resistance protein, BCRP, is a multidrug protein that highly expressed in the human placenta. In tissues, this actively extrudes wide variety of chemically and structurally unrelated chemotherapeutic drugs other compounds. Studies mice have shown absence BCRP activity placenta, there 2-fold increase uptake substrates into fetus. This suggests compounds would otherwise cross syncytiotrophoblast cells fetal circulation. The purpose study was to examine expression localization placenta throughout gestation. Tissues from 6–13, 16–19, 24–29, 32–35, 38–41 weeks gestation were used.
