摘要: Publisher Summary The catalytic effect of enzymes is based in part on their capacity to endow the substrates with highly increased chemical reactivity. This superreactivity enzyme-activated manifests itself rate transformation specific substrate into product; it may, however, also comprise enhanced reactivity toward extrinsic reagents that are not constituents normal enzyme-substrate system. Enzyme-substrate intermediates may thus react and branch off pathway. term “paracatalytic enzyme reaction” suggested describe these reactions that, except first stages pathway, do correspond specificity enzyme. chapter describes principal features paracatalytic modification accompanying oxidation carbanion intermediates. It discusses its differentiation from other substratedependent catalysis-linked modifications, concludes an accouat detailed procedures for several enzymes.
