摘要: The ability of halophiles to survive in the extreme salt concentrations has gained them importance being used treatment industrial waste waters. A moderately halophilic bacterial strain with degrade complex azo dye Direct Blue-1 (DB-1) was isolated from sea water and identified as Marinobacter sp. HBRA. Complete decolorization DB-1 (100 mg L(-1)) achieved 6h at 37 °C, pH 8 70 g L(-1) NaCl. Decolorization analyzed by UV-vis spectrophotometer. FT-IR spectrum revealed that HBRA specifically targeted bond (NN) 1631 cm(-1) break down Blue-1. Formation metabolites different retention times HPLC indicated degradation. Biotransformation pathway for proposed based on LC-MS. Phytotoxicity study less toxic nature compared dye. Genotoxicity Allium cepa confirmed cytotoxic inducing several chromosomal abnormalities negligible effects degraded metabolites. current is first report detoxification
