摘要: Abstract The chemical ecology of marine eukaryotic microalgae is the study biological and interactions between these organisms in their aquatic environment. Chemically mediated communication cues are responsible for conditioning milieu growth cellular defence, potentially affecting processes as diverse inter- intraspecific competition, sexual reproduction, sinking swimming behaviour, solar radiation protection, predation, nutrient acquisition sequestration. Although biosynthesis secondary metabolites that elicit responses may confer a significant (if not unique) selective advantage upon producer, both terms evolutionary history over seasonal time-scales food webs, it difficult to demonstrate functional mechanisms with certainty.
