摘要: Natural variation for drought tolerance is a major issue in adaptation and geographic distribution of terrestrial plants. Despite the importance, little known about genes molecular mechanisms that determine its naturally occurring diversity. We analyzed intraspecific between 2 accessions Arabidopsis thaliana, Columbia (Col)-0 Wassilewskija (Ws)-2. Measurement weight loss detached seedlings demonstrated clear difference drought-tolerant Col-0 drought-sensitive Ws-2. They also differed their stomatal response under condition. Using quantitative genetic approach, we found significant locus on chromosome 1. Surveying locus, extrapolated SLAC1 gene, which associated with closure, was likely responsible tolerance. Comparison nucleotide amino acid sequences revealed there were few differences regions encoding protein but large deletion promoter Histochemical GUS staining showed expressed dominantly guard cells Col-0, did less Quantitative PCR analysis transcript level higher than The transcription analyses indicate low accumulation When taken together, our results suggest Ws-2 region SLAC1.
