摘要: Highly reactive uranium and thorium metal powders have been prepared by reduction of the anhydrous metal(IV) chlorides in hydrocarbon solvents. The employs crystalline hydrocarbon-soluble reducing agent ((TMEDA)Li)/sub 2/(Nap) (TMEDA = N,N,N',N'-tetramethylethylenediamine, Nap naphthalene). resulting active shown to be extremely with oxygen-containing compounds used reductive coupling aromatic ketones giving tetra-arylethylenes. Reactions pinacols given some mechanistic insight into ketone reaction. These finely divided activate very weakly acidic C-H bonds forming hydrides, which can transferred organic substrates.
