摘要: Abstract The pharmacology and toxicology of terbium, thulium, ytterbium chlorides have been investigated. Both acute intraperitoneal oral toxicity the three chemicals was delayed type. symptoms such described were identical for all chemicals. chronic ingestion these materials by rats at dosage levels revealed that did not affect growth rate, whereas both terbium thulium 0.1 1.0% suppressed sexes during 12-week period. However, hemograms animals affected. Perinuclear vacuolization in liver only histopathologic change found tissues examined, it appeared to be sex linked. pharmacologic responses compounds mainly depressant on systems studied, death associated with cardiovascular collapse coupled respiratory paralysis. greatest damage observed abraded skin, where ulcerations occurred required 45 days healing. Terbium very irritating also intact skin but produce scarring. This chemical produced transient cornea, caused cojunctival requiring 18 toxicologic effects compared other rare elements.
