摘要: Water samples were collected on 2 surveys (1980, 1981) in the Southern Ocean south of South Africa, and these analyzed for trace elements copper, zinc cadmium, addition to usual oceanographic parameters (temperature, salinity, dissolved oxygen, phosphate, nitrate silicate). The results showed that, unlike other areas world ocean, there is little evidence that follow systematics nutrients. This ascribed low productivity area. Lateral advection was found affect distributions more than vertical processes. oxygen minimum associated with Circumpolar Deep Water, advected into region via Drake Passage, unexpectedly be a layer Cu concentration. Zinc Cd variation deep water, having values characteristic those elsewhere ocean. copper-silicate ratio useful tracer, used infer an input silicate from sediments bottom water.
