摘要: Abstract The general form of Cu-depth profiles is unique. In the central North Pacific, values decrease from a surface maximum about 3 nmol/kg to 1.5 in upper thermocline. Below 750 m there an increase over 6 bottom waters with no mid-depth extremum. boundary regions are similar deep water but do not have maximum. This unique elemental distribution maintained by aeolean input comparable magnitude fluvial component, ubiquitous scavenging subsurface and water, strong source. Apparently agent, presumably sinking particles, loses its Cu-binding capacity during early diagenesis. half-life respect 1100 years overall residence time or final removal 5000 years.
