摘要: Paraquat is a rather toxic pro-oxidant herbicide, prompting multi-organ failure, including the heart, brain, and lung injuries, although precise underlying mechanism(s) remains poorly understood. Up-to-date, number of signaling machineries have been postulated for paraquat toxicity, such as accumulation free radical species development oxidative stress. believed to serve potent ROS generator, resulting in detrimental biological effects through stress injury mitochondrial dysfunction. In this mini-review we will recapitulate some aspects toxicity main body organs, lungs, heart. Cellular mechanisms behind be discussed with focus on stress, injury, autophagy. Special attention given direct pro-inflammatory cascades triggered by exposure herbicide-induced organ damage.
