摘要: Abstract A mathematical model is used to describe the increase in generation time with age of mother cells asymmetrically dividing yeast Saccharomyces revisiae . It postulated that increases linearly amount a senescence factor present each cell. The factor, which inhibits cell division, produced continuously. Although it not degraded or destroyed, may be diluted by division. formally identical one was successful describing waste dilution populations aging human diploid fibroblasts (Hirsch, 1978). relation between and explored. Agreement calculated results generation-time data adequate. indicate accumulates little no cells.
