摘要: This perspective explores common pediatric diagnoses that could present with central vestibular pathway dysfunction, leading to delays in motor development and postural control, gaze instability. Specifically, the following are considered: cerebral palsy, myelomeningocele, migraine, attention-deficit hyperactivity disorder, developmental coordination concussion, childhood cancer, congenital muscular torticollis, adolescent idiopathic scoliosis, autism. Suggestions for clinical screening, function testing, rehabilitation children these based on evidence efficacy of testing interventions peripheral hypofunction. More research is needed explore diagnoses. Testing intervention methods may need be modified accommodate specific behavior challenges some might present. Researchers should develop technology so stabilization exercises can delivered a fun, functional, effective way.
