摘要: The design considerations for an automated supernova search are reviewed. If to be found a week after explosion well before light maximum of both Types I and II, if rate finding 52 per year is justified, then one needs keep roughly 5000 galaxies under surveillance out full set 15,000 at ≅ 50 Mpc distance. For detection 1% Type requires (1) 30-inch telescope, (2) 10 photoelectrons pixel threshold, (3) 128 × photo-detector operating with 3-second integration time, (4) 2 seconds slew settle 1°. A system designed perform this function in real-time described.
