摘要: The amplified spontaneous emission (ASE) of a strained quantum-well distributed feedback (DFB) laser biased below threshold is used to extract the gain and refractive index spectra in systematic manner. A modified Hakki-Paoli method obtain differential spectra. change due carrier injection obtained from shift Fabry-Perot peaks ASE spectrum. measured spectrum, gain, change, linewidth enhancement factor are then compared with our theoretical model for lasers. Our takes into account realistic band structure uses material dimensions directly calculation electronic optical properties. theory agrees very well experiment.
