摘要: We describe a method of immunocytochemically assessing estrogen receptor (ER) status on alcohol-fixed smears obtained by fine-needle aspiration (FNA) from breast cancer patients, using commercially available monoclonal antibody (1D5) with microwave oven processing. A series 31 cases aspirates were analysed and the results compared assessment ER immunocytochemical assay same procedure formalin-fixed tissue ER-ICA frozen sections. The scored semiquantitatively five grade scoring system. Of examined, 21 positive at least two methods 10 negative for all three determinations. in paraffin-sections 1D5 those sections H222 closely similar. In only one case was it not possible to interpret reaction cytological specimen because there strong background smear. general, we more intense positivity material than almost identical. conclude that application will eliminate need special fixation provide several advantages, such as: improvement morphological concomitant analysis, utilization whenever malignancy is found without necessity re-aspirate patient, adequacy archival material.
