摘要: Summary: Purpose: To determine the nature of abnormalities γ-aminobutyric acid (GABA)A–central benzodiazepine (BZD) receptor binding in patients with dysembryoplastic neuroepithelial tumor (DNET) comparison normal controls. Methods: Five DNET and 24 controls underwent (11C)flumazenil positron emission tomography (PET) to measure volume distribution (FMZVD) at voxel level. Patients were compared by using statistical parametric mapping (SPM) also a partial-volume effect (PVE) corrected volume-of-interest (VOI) analysis covering entire brain. First, SPM, highest Z-score for image representing FMZVD decreases normals was found. Second, regions abnormal located p 2.5 standard deviations (SD) >3 SD all other regions. Results: In cases, across whole decreased within DNET. three cases SPM revealed single region significantly reduced FMZVD, three. VOI showed PVE-corrected low four cases. seven FMZVD; adjacent DNET, two mesial temporal areas not affected DNET. Conclusions: is probably contributing epileptogenicity.
