Open preperitoneal groin hernia repair with mesh: A qualitative systematic review

摘要: Abstract Background For the repair of inguinal hernias, several surgical methods have been presented where purpose is to place a mesh in preperitoneal plane through an open access. The aim this systematic review was describe repairs with emphasis on technique. Data sources A conducted and reported according PRISMA statement. PubMed, Cochrane library Embase were searched systematically. Studies included if they provided clinical data more than 30 days follow up following hernia Conclusions total 67 articles included, describing nine different methods: Kugel, TREPP, TIPP, Onstep, Horton/Florence, Nyhus, Ugahary, Read, Stoppa. In general, results regarding pain, recurrences complications seem promising. It not possible conduct meta-analysis. Open techniques placement approach promising compared standard anterior techniques. This provides overview these together description outcomes.
