摘要: A search for external vibrations of hydrocarbons physisorbed on Cu(100) has been carried out with high‐resolution inelastic He‐atom scattering. For the saturated n‐hexane, cyclohexane, n‐octane, and n‐decane, frustrated translation normal to surface could be detected energies 6.8 meV, 7.3 7.0 respectively. very similar value meV same vibration is observed unsaturated hydrocarbon benzene. No vibrational modes corresponding translations parallel detected.
