摘要: Background: Bariatric surgery results in significant weight loss, improvement or cure of accompanying illnesses, and may lead to important changes psychological conditions. The aim this paper is study the emotional lives patients as well quality life during first 2 years after vertical banded gastroplasty (VBG). Methods: population comprised 59 patients, 45 women (76.3%) 14 men, between 18 64 old. Patients were asked complete an SCL-90R questionnaire before VBG. VBG, again a BAROS questionnaire. Comparisons made loss weight, alteration condition postoperatively, within parameters sex, age, marital status, level education, duration obesity family history obesity. Results: Women had greater degree depression from than their male counterparts procedure (P=0.001), while postoperative was more marked (P=0.008).
