摘要: Kondagogu (Cochlospermum gossypium) gum (KG), a natural tree exudate, was investigated for its morphological, adsorption and metal interaction behavior with various toxic heavy metals (Pb, Cd, Ni, Cr Fe). SEM, AFM TEM techniques were used to study the morphological changes occurring after onto biopolymer structure. The degree of biosorption on KG surfaces assessed by small-angle X-ray scattering analysis. EDXA spectrum revealed that ion-exchange mechanism plays major role in binding process between ions. higher electron density observed KG-Cd complex suggests Cd is strongly bound compared other metals. This work provides potential platform developing hydrocolloid-based nanogel bioremediation environmental contaminants.
