摘要: Abstract Pyrolysis/cracking of non-edible plant seed oil Jatropha (JO) and the utilization cracked liquid product as a transportation fuel have gained importance due to growing demand renewable source depleting fossil reserves. Thus, an attempt has been made study non-isothermal kinetics JO cracking/pyrolysis using thermogravimetric analysis. The experiments were carried out at different heating rates 5, 10, 15 20 K min−1 under nitrogen atmosphere from ambient temperature 1073 K. degradation was found occur in three steps. main devolatilization occurs region 623–753 K is essentially complete this zone. Kinetic studies isoconversional Friedman's plots obtained for show presence two regions degradation. average activation energy calculated first 114.49 kJ/mol second 221.88 kJ/mol. For better understanding cracking, cracking also batch reactor liquid, gaseous char analyzed. Both methods revealed that there conversion JO. contain alkanes, alkenes, cycloalkanes carboxylic acids. consisted methane, pentane, iso-butane certain uncondensed components (greater than C5 carbons). had high carbon content showed K, Mg, Fe.
