摘要: Prehistoric exchange systems in the Interior Plateau of northwestern North America are examined this chapter. Trade relationships between and adjacent coastal, Great Basin, Plains regions well documented at time Euro-American contact provide a reference point for study prehistoric (Griswold 1954; Ray 1933, 1939, 1942; Spinden 1908; Teit 1900, 1930; Thwaites 1969). Of commodities included trade during ethnographic period, two materials, obsidian marine shell, remarkable their appearance archaeological sites extending into period. Indeed, these materials form nucleus all studies Plateau.
