摘要: A novel variable-size block multi-resolution motion estimation (MRME) scheme is presented. The can be used to estimate vectors in subband coding, wavelet coding and other pyramid systems for video compression. In the MRME scheme, highest layer of are first estimated, then these as initial next gradually refined. variable size adapt its level pyramid. This not only considerably reduces searching matching time but also provides a meaningful characterization intrinsic structure. addition, variable-MRME approach avoids drawback constant-size describing small object activities. proposed variable-block estimating different source formats resolutions including telephone, NTSC/PAL/SECAM, HDTV applications.
