摘要: Extracellular polysaccharides (EPS) of a copper-sensitive (Cus) and copper-resistant (Cur) Pseudomonas aeruginosa strain were investigated in terms their production, chemical nature response towards copper exposure. The extent EPS synthesis by the resistant (4.78 mg mg−1 cell dry wt.) was considerably higher over its sensitive counterpart (2.78 wt.). FTIR-spectroscopy gas chromatography revealed that both polymers acidic nature, containing alginate as major component along with various neutral- amino-sugars. Acid content Cur (480.54 g−1) greater than Cus (442.0 g−1). Presence Cu2+ growth medium caused dramatic stimulation (approximately 4-fold) strain, while similar condition, failed to exhibit such response. polymer showed elevated binding (320 g−1 EPS) compared type (270 overall observations show potential for deployment metal bioremediation.
