摘要: The medullary thyroid carcinoma (MTC) is a malignancy of the C-cell, which originates from neural crest. In avian or teleost species, C-cells form separate organ, ultimobranchial body. mammals, however, migrate into during embryonic life. Within are located adjacent to but outside follicle (parafollicular cells). Their neuroendocrine origin implies several features differentiate them follicular epithelium. These include an uptake mechanism for biogenic amines and production small polypeptide hormones, including products calcitonin gene like (CT), gene-related peptide (CGRP) others (Bussolati Pearse 1967; 1968). Despite their proximity there little information as whether hormonal cellular interactions between epithelium C-cell exist.
