Breast carcinoma in elderly women: pathology, prognosis, and survival.

摘要: There is a widely held belief that breast carcinoma occurring in elderly women characterized by relatively favorable prognosis and unusual histologic types of tumors. To assess these topics single patient group, 169 (greater than or equal to 75 years) treated mastectomy for primary operable at Memorial Hospital (1964 1970) were identified. Followup revealed 117 patients (70 percent) died. Thirty-eight (22 developed recurrent 35 (21 known have died the disease. Death was attributable cause other 82 cases (49 percent).
