摘要: Dynamic vulcanization was used to prepare thermoplastic elastomer blends of nylon (polyamide), polypropylene (PP) and polybutylene terephthalate thermoplastics with chlorobutyl (CIIR) nitrile (NBR) rubbers. Mechanical properties the were correlated against composition. Although hardness tensile strength increase increasing content for all blends, elongation at break values initially decrease then in range 20–40% thermoplastic. For various blend compositions, swelling behavior evaluated solvents that are able dissolve uncured rubber portion but not component mixtures. All five systems showed index substantially less than calculated “theoretical” index. This attributed a caging effect on phase, which restricts access solvent phase. In turn, this affects resistance blend. Some by differential scanning calorimetry assess compatibility components electron microscopy also determine degree two phases generated mixing process. © 2008 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.
