Role of membrane fusion in CO2 stimulation of proton secretion by turtle bladder

摘要: The changes in cell structure produced during stimulation of proton secretion by CO2 turtle bladder were examined using ultrastructural morphometric methods. One hour after addition, the area luminal membrane carbonic anhydrase-containing (CA) population was increased 2.5-fold and volume percent electron-lucent cytoplasmic vesicles these CA cells decreased 61%. No observed epithelial granular cells. These results suggest that fuse with membrane. is inhibited cytoskeleton-disrupting drugs colchicine cytochalasin B 99% deuterium oxide as Ringer solvent. Deuterium also inhibits decrease vesicles. Thus depends to a large extent on vesicle fusion resultant increase surface area.
