摘要: Abstract Three decades has passed since the introduction of smart water injection in carbonate rocks; however, use diluted seawater (dSW) and its associated mechanisms are not yet well understood. Several have been introduced literature for increased productivity low salinity injection. In this study, coreflooding tests were conducted to analyze importance one contribution mechanisms, so-called rock dissolution mechanism. We used as baseline injecting phase, along with two dSW solutions, 5- 20-folds dilution ratios solutions. pore volumes displacing phase injected into real reservoir core plugs recover oil content. The impact on recovery was evaluated by measuring plug permeabilities before after flood factor (RF) a function time, monitoring pH at inlet effluent. interaction fluid closely monitored analyzed studying pressure profiles. It obtained that diluting intensified dissolution. This mechanism absent when unprocessed oil.
