摘要: The effect of static and cyclic loading conditions on the stress corrosion cracking unidirectional glass reinforced polymer (GRP) rods used in composite high voltage insulator has been investigated. A series experiments have performed E-glass/modified polyester rods. subjected to mechanical tensile stresses presence a nitric acid solution. fracture process was monitored using acoustic emission techniques. experimental simulated possible in-service loadis for suspension insulators. results obtained this study showed that brittle can be generated when relatively low morphology experimentally cracks closely resemble those from failed suspension. It also shown research frequency, amplitude vibrations loads significantly accelerate process. appears under are less planar nature comparison with formed conditions. found during is sensitive placement transducers. However, reasonably good correlation between crack growth rates attained.
