摘要: The purpose of this research is to determine the resistance stress-corrosion cracking (SCC) three unidirectional (pultruded) E-glass/polymer composites based on modified polyester, epoxy and vinyl ester resins. have been subjected a nitric acid solution pH 1.2 in newly designed four-point bend fixture. process was initiated as-supplied surfaces composites. has monitored for acoustic emissions surface damage specimens investigated by use scanning electron microscopy. Experimental results indicate that cracks originate predominantly from exposed glass fibers can be successfully means emission equipment. Three stages SCC, crack initiation, sub-critical extension stable propagation, distinguished carefully examining curves (number events) versus time. For first second outputs are linear functions slopes time used quantitatively both initiation extension, respectively. It shown SCC E-glass/vinyl composite approximately 10 times greater than E-glass/epoxy composite. Furthermore, system exhibits 5 higher E-glass/modified polyester system. also significantly more rapid
