摘要: Abstract Objective: Rapid ventricular pacing produces a reliable model of heart failure. Cessation after 4 weeks rapid results in normalization left function, but the ventricle remains persistently dilated. We present novel data that show prolonged (10 weeks) creates chronic dysfunction. Methods: In 9 dogs undergoing 10 pacing, function and volumes were serially assessed by using 2-dimensional echocardiography pressure-volume analysis for 12 cessation pacing. Results: Increased end-diastolic volume decreased systolic diastolic seen at end By 2 recovery from ejection fraction partially recovered did not improve further thereafter. Load-independent load-sensitive indices obtained 8 confirmed persistence both addition, mass increased with remained elevated recovery. Four these studied 6 months showed similar abnormalities. Conclusion: Ten long-term (J Thorac Cardiovasc Surg 2000;119:834-41)
