摘要: Human contribution to global climate change through greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions is one of the most intensely debated policy issues our time. Residential density just factors that affect GHGs, and yet a vast volume research has been conducted on this topic. This review literature intended help inform aspect debate by summarizing synthesizing literature—nearly 200 studies in total—in 12 key areas. The report examines four groups influence complex relationship between density, change: its with travel behavior energy use; how neighborhood characteristics behavior; transit efficiency compared private autos; demographics other trends related transportation land use. last section identifies major conclusions some areas for further research. More detailed reviews each these topics are provided appendix.
