摘要: The use of dental processing software for computed tomography (CT) data (Dentascan) is described on postmortem (pm) CT the purpose pm identification. allows reconstructing reformatted images comparable to conventional panoramic radiographs by defining a curved reconstruction line along teeth oblique images. Three corpses that have been scanned within virtopsy project were used test In every case, could be reconstructed and compared antemortem radiographs. showed basic component (enamel, dentin, pulp), anatomic structure alveolar bone, missing or unerupted as well restorations When streak artifacts due metal-containing work reduced image quality, it was still necessary perform comparison detailed shape restoration. Dental identification profiling seems become possible in noninvasive manner using Dentascan software.
