摘要: In response to microbial infections, Drosophila mounts a multifaceted immune involving humoral reactions that culminate in the destruction of invading organisms by lytic peptides. These defense mechanisms are activated via two distinct signaling pathways. One these, Toll pathway, controls resistance fungal and Gram-positive bacterial whereas Imd pathway is responsible for against Gram-negative infections. Current evidence indicates recognition infectious nonself agents results from interactions between wall components extracellular pattern proteins. We discuss here evolutionary perspectives on our present understanding antimicrobial defenses Drosophila.
