摘要: Abstract Development of follicles in the goat ovary is characterized by presence four or more waves follicular growth same cycle. Dominant follicle features also differ from ones observed other species. It has been previously shown that serum estrone (E 1 ) predominant estrogen during puberty and continues being high adult female goat. Serum estradiol 2 may be beyond limit sensitivity RIA puberty, but can measured female. The objective present study was to investigate steroid metabolism, focused on androgens estrogens synthesis, ovarian For this purpose different sizes (3–9 mm) were dissected ovaries goats separately dissociated trypsin. Cells each singly incubated DMEM plus BSA 3 H -progesterone. Some cells exposed hCG FSH. At end incubation period media obtained, ether-extracted steroids separated thin layer chromatography. methodology used showed produced (testosterone (T) androstenedione (A 4 )), 17α-OHP (estradiol-17β )). Most responded FSH increasing androgen production. mainly suggesting they are evolving atresia. E /E ratio related size follicle. production higher than 3–6 mm follicles. capacity respond suggests receptors small antral In conclusion, results show metabolize progesterone estrogens. Steroid metabolism studies as it occurs mammals, undergo atresia at any stage development. Estrone found most regulated gonadotropins. Results least, Δ pathway active
