Coercion and Tenacious Treatment in the Community

摘要: Coercion in community-based programs has become an increasing concern (Parrish, 1992). Much of this coincided with the development assertive (or aggressive) community treatment programs. Prior to active outreach teams, attempts coerce behavior clients living were limited by practical realities. Clients traditional mental health systems always had option just not showing up. It is true that could be threatened rehospitalization under court order, but enforcing such orders required cooperation from police, who typically little interest searching for a mentally ill client committed any crime (Cesnik & Puls, 1977).
