Prevalence and Correlates of Depression Among New U.S. Immigrants

摘要: Although immigrants comprise one of the fastest growing segments society, information on their adjustment to life in US remains limited. The present study examined prevalence depression and associated correlates among a national sample newly admitted legal permanent residence US. Data were derived from baseline adult cohort New Immigrant Survey, representative who had obtained between May November 2003. Approximately 3 % respondents met criteria for probable past 12 months. Respondents female, younger age, longer period time, exposed political violence country origin more likely meet depression.
