Detection of antibody to varicella‐zoster virus by competitive and IgM‐antibody capture immunoassay

摘要: A simple, sensitive, and specific competitive solid phase immunoassay for antibody to varicella-zoster virus (anti-VZV) is described. The assay uses reagents that can easily be prepared sparing of viral antigen. Using a coated with sheep IgG from serum raised against human μ-Fc, the same will accurately detect anti-VZV IgM. The divided sera children adults into immune nonimmune groups closely correlated history previous VZV illness. It was not affected by presence or absence other herpes viruses. IgM capture demonstrated in patients both varicella zoster gave negative results infections unrelated healthy blood donors.
