摘要: The impact of psychological interventions on the use medical services was evaluated by examining outcome 91 studies published between 1967 and 1997 using meta-analytic techniques percentage estimates. Psychological treatments included various forms psychotherapy, behavioral medicine, psychiatric consultation. Patients those undergoing procedures such as surgery, patients with a history ovemtilization, being treated only for disorders including substance abuse. Results provided evidence cost-offset effect, specifically in domain medicine. Average savings resulting from implementing estimated to be about 20%.
