Psychiatry and the practice of medicine: the need to integrate psychiatry into comprehensive medical care.

摘要: Psychiatric problems are common in general medical practice and strongly influence utilization. A number of studies have shown the positive effects psychiatric interventions for both inpatients outpatients. Unfortunately, historic economic forces tended to keep mental health components care separated. This paper presents information supporting need reintegrate psychiatry into practice. Such reintegration will require a shift location clinicians primary setting, change curriculum residents, clearer definition role relation other professions.
