摘要: The microbial flora of the mouth is highly complex, containing a wide variety bacterial species. most common types oral disease, dental caries and periodontal are both related to plaque seem occur when normal balance between microorganisms host disturbed in some way. Dental usually associated with increased numbers mutans streptococci lactobacilli at sites disease; estimation salivary levels these organisms may be useful for assessing risk patients monitoring their response preventive measures. A large number 'candidate pathogens' have been identified as potential aetiological agents different although 'specific hypothesis' still controversial. Porphyromonas gingivalis, Actinobacillus actinomycetemcomitans, together poorly understood spirochaetes, frequently reported significant periodontopathogens possible virulence factors described. Application modern molecular techniques study microbiology diseases should allow rapid further progress made will lead, hopefully, improved methods diagnosis, assessment treatment.
