摘要: This chapter describes the principal types of both passenger and freight demand models in use today, providing a brief history model development supported by references to number popular texts on subject, directing reader papers covering some more recent technical developments area. Over past half century variety methods have been used estimate forecast travel demands, drawing concepts from economic/utility maximization theory, transportation system optimization spatial interaction using often combining solution techniques as varied Box-Jenkins methods, non-linear multivariate regression, mathematical programming, agent-based microsimulation.
