摘要: This paper explores the new research challenges for forecasting urban goods demand by rail. In fact, growing interest to find logistics solutions improving city sustainability and livability, mainly due reduction of road accessibility environmental constraints, has pushed explore alternative road. Multi-modal logistics, based on use railway, seem an interesting solution, but it remained at conceptual level. Few studies have explored factors, that push actors competitive such a system with respect road, modelling framework relative demand. Therefore, reviews current literature, investigates factors involved in choosing mode, finally, recalls recent hence proposes some advancements allow point out rail transport alternative.
