Generation and Evaluation of Novel Stromal Cell‐Containing Tissue Engineered Artificial Stromas for the Surgical Repair of Abdominal Defects

摘要: Repair of abdominal wall defects is one the major clinical challenges in surgery. Most biomaterials are associated to infection and severe complications, making necessary safer more biocompatible approaches. In present work, adequate mechanical properties synthetic polymer meshes with tissue-engineered matrices containing stromal mesenchymal cells combined generate a novel cell-containing tissue-like artificial stroma (SCTLAS) for use repair. SCTLAS consisting on fibrin-agarose hydrogels seeded reinforced commercial surgical (SM) evaluated vitro vivo animal models defect. Inflammatory cells, collagen, extracellular matrix (ECM) components analyzed compared grafted SM. Use results less inflammation fibrosis than SM, most ECM being very similar control tissues.
