摘要: Describes the stochastic model FOREGEN that simulates regeneration in openings northern hardwood stands range size from clearcuts of 2,000 by feet to single-tree 25 feet. The incorporates effects seed development, dispersal, germination, seedbed conditions, advanced regeneration, and weather. Users can specify options on stand age, species composition, opening, harvesting winter vs. summer, mechanical scarification, trees, stump treatment for red maple. output is percent composition 3 years after harvest.
