摘要: Isoprene is facing a growing global market due to its wide industrial applications. Current production of isoprene almost entirely petroleum-based, which influenced by the shrinking C5 supply, while natural emission predominantly contributed plants. To bridge need gap, highly efficient fermentation-based process for might be suitable and sustainable solution, extensive research works have been performed achieve this goal. Here we review accomplishments in field summarizing history prospects microbial production. The producers biosynthesis pathways isoprene, key enzyme synthase metabolic engineering strategies adopted developing isoprene-producing microorganisms are introduced. In particular, employed achieving engineered strains with improved performance indices discussed based on published papers patents. perspectives further improvements potential future presented as well.
