摘要: Dipping and photo-induced liquid crystal (LC) alignments were demonstrated using new silanes as surface coupling agents. In the dipping method, both homogeneous homeotropic can be achieved depending on alkyl chain length of silane employed. The 110°C post curing temperature makes method especially attractive for low processing active matrix displays. UV-induced LC alignment, cells are obtained directors perpendicular to impinging UV polarization. pretilt angle methods is found ~0.5°.
